Structure of Neurone.

Neurons
1. Cell body- contain nucleus-acts as control center of cell.
2. Dendron/Dendrite- transmit impulse into cell body
3. Nissl's Granules- Polyribosome and endoplasmic Recticulum involve in synthesis of proteins.
4. Axon- Projection that transmit impulse away from cell body.
5. Myelin Sheath- Made of Schwann's cell that wraps around axon- acts as protective layer, electrochemical insulator and facilitateds saltatory conduction.
6. Node of Ranvier- Gap between 2 adjacent myelin sheath on axon- facilitate saltatory conducion.
7. Axon Terminal- Ending of axon.
8. Synapse- Site for impulse transmission from one neurone into another.

Motor/Efferent Neurone

Function-transmits impulse from Central Nervous System(CNS) to effectors.
Cell body is located in grey matter of spinal cord.
Has long Axon

Sensory/Afferent Neurone

Function-transmits impulse from receptor to CNS
Cell body is located in dorsal root ganglion of spinal cord.
